About me

The author: I am Ivy, a traditional Chinese acupuncturist practising in South London covering East Croydon and surrounding areas such as Selsdon, Addington, Sanderstead, Purley and Coulsdon.

I help patients with a range of illnesses and symptoms, from clearly defined complaints to more general feelings of ill health and low energy.

The blog: In China where acupuncture was originated, people grow up knowing what kind of condition is best treated by Chinese or Western medicine. In general hospitals, traditional Chinese medicine has its own ward and is offered alongside Western medicine in the national health system. Both Chinese and Western doctors learn the fundamentals of each discipline and cross refer patients for the most suitable treatment.

In the West, Chinese medicine has been growing over the years. In some primary care trusts, acupuncture is being offered in pain clinics. This blog is created to share case histories from my clinic to help readers gain insights into the types of conditions that can be treated by acupuncture.

The patient: All patients featured in this blog have been patients of mine. Efforts have been made to protect their identity and I would ask readers to respect this and not sharing without referencing.

The clinic: If you require further information about me or my clinic, please visit my web page or contact me on ivyxxu@xuclinic.co.uk.
