The clinical diagnosis was severe Endometriosis and adhesion. Due to the location of the issue, surgery was not an option. </p><p>Patient often experienced severe period pain, passing large blood clots, poor quality of sleep and weak digestion. Acupuncture, acupressure and Chinese herbal medicine were offered to the patient which over time eliminated her signs and symptoms. Patient conceived naturally after two years. </p><p>Below are tongue pictures taken before and at the end of the treatments which demonstrated how treatments had improved her overall health. </p><p>Tongue photos at the first session: scarlet red tongue body with deep teeth marks and swollen edges<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMN5-TRrKa9O6tv18Mw3WBdYa7o1PNWRtvxDPovb1yJq4cORcgYh6QYWeny5yIsnRaAq6EYnrevI-0oQ3GdKXILpZ4FmKGyCS6elhyDpFnpQNPGDLvxRLJ66xBkEEUV2nyDYTwyBmj9jqQoJBPDG95bjzBDFSRYT4Iy730mKwK4DIZsAoeCQbVUAJZEnly/s241/Screenshot%202023-10-06%20at%2011.38.33.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="241" data-original-width="178" height="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMN5-TRrKa9O6tv18Mw3WBdYa7o1PNWRtvxDPovb1yJq4cORcgYh6QYWeny5yIsnRaAq6EYnrevI-0oQ3GdKXILpZ4FmKGyCS6elhyDpFnpQNPGDLvxRLJ66xBkEEUV2nyDYTwyBmj9jqQoJBPDG95bjzBDFSRYT4Iy730mKwK4DIZsAoeCQbVUAJZEnly/s1600/Screenshot%202023-10-06%20at%2011.38.33.png" width="178" /></a></p><p>Under tongue showed fully extended thick sublingual veins</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjooad0vgrYA8_3kklwIT8CzW_6blFQEn_v811QztZL2TB77ZSmPOrby7gYozWMC4Q0FtllxiY8TXjzUaGP9neoV6gqXja_gNpWDd1-Mm3R1wXNEQfaDd6VjFTdsM82lz0mNjeZRkUP-ERS2oMVMtmwlKPmgI2nXMsjj_I-82TAKHhAFx2zzwBVWKPwPXyf/s211/Screenshot%202023-10-06%20at%2011.38.40.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="180" data-original-width="211" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjooad0vgrYA8_3kklwIT8CzW_6blFQEn_v811QztZL2TB77ZSmPOrby7gYozWMC4Q0FtllxiY8TXjzUaGP9neoV6gqXja_gNpWDd1-Mm3R1wXNEQfaDd6VjFTdsM82lz0mNjeZRkUP-ERS2oMVMtmwlKPmgI2nXMsjj_I-82TAKHhAFx2zzwBVWKPwPXyf/s1600/Screenshot%202023-10-06%20at%2011.38.40.png" width="211" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Tongue pictures taken at the last session: healthy pink tongue body with good coating and even shape, </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXks8RvATMCBm6LhY9j6BSQ15-F_6SF_EzHaPc4XW-MA7d3lEcmNC5QZsvTnNPqnpqy8sQN0kVaHOu4iSl701MzMooFuwCxtNKzXUs8yycI1SuUOHiQXPiIXCwaZJNlftHkCUW2m_tQzKnJn9CbKbZaVmw3HJd1plqCVoWMgTWYiJllL-0mCPzeLo9tcBk/s241/Screenshot%202023-10-06%20at%2011.34.41.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="241" data-original-width="192" height="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXks8RvATMCBm6LhY9j6BSQ15-F_6SF_EzHaPc4XW-MA7d3lEcmNC5QZsvTnNPqnpqy8sQN0kVaHOu4iSl701MzMooFuwCxtNKzXUs8yycI1SuUOHiQXPiIXCwaZJNlftHkCUW2m_tQzKnJn9CbKbZaVmw3HJd1plqCVoWMgTWYiJllL-0mCPzeLo9tcBk/s1600/Screenshot%202023-10-06%20at%2011.34.41.png" width="192" /></a><div>Under tongue showed reduced sublingual veins</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii8-XfeYeNTpR5rurYJvt7S1YZl3kO3N-vY4gG6xiL6PrXWqWw-40zJQ1vGMJR0gn3UGxOI61SGzmj1h62d1n0xuuqCSdUWMqO5HKshGiWd39yoqcjfhlajjsLD9vbm8VtcGASgILoh2Ssac6f78-vW2eBHC1fbPF3l-xofiqqusnARyYG_9cDVIGQMcf7/s183/Screenshot%202023-10-06%20at%2011.34.49.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="183" data-original-width="177" height="183" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii8-XfeYeNTpR5rurYJvt7S1YZl3kO3N-vY4gG6xiL6PrXWqWw-40zJQ1vGMJR0gn3UGxOI61SGzmj1h62d1n0xuuqCSdUWMqO5HKshGiWd39yoqcjfhlajjsLD9vbm8VtcGASgILoh2Ssac6f78-vW2eBHC1fbPF3l-xofiqqusnARyYG_9cDVIGQMcf7/s1600/Screenshot%202023-10-06%20at%2011.34.49.png" width="177" /></a></div><br /><div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /><p></p><p></p><br /><p></p><p></p></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973790018059523122.post-33178031369983735742023-10-06T10:41:00.004+01:002023-10-06T10:41:38.846+01:00Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for Tachycardia and Muscle twitching <p>Patient was admitted to A&E for fast heart rate, palpitation, twitching eyes and involuntary muscle movement in the body. </p><p>After one session of acupuncture and one week of Chinese herbal medicine use, patient felt a marked improvement on twitching eyes. He pulled his Achilles when he was still a child and has had issue with it since. There is considerable discomfort during running. It feels tight first thing in the morning and after sitting in a fixed position for too long. Sitting cross legged, climbing stairs can cause pain too. He also experiences sporadic leg cramp in bed.</p><p>Pain level improved substantially after three sessions of regular acupuncture. After six sessions of treatments, patient was able to run with no discomfort at all. Mild discomfort still presented when crossing legs. Patient then completed a half Marathon with no issue after three further treatments and no longer experienced any pain in Achilles. </p><p><i><span style="color: #3d85c6;">To enquire or book an appointment, please email ivyxxu@xuclinic.co.uk with your contact details. </span></i></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZaet1wCvODKbNjlgY1ve7pJty6kYVqpJxIFYTU6fdy2gfkatg-mfHTc_Tkgntsxn0KEKNxWL4JoGiR_2hpyyiDZgT5yh9W4RAV9cHIawxuoBIgO8-nHXoXuo22AsN7XNhRT9qzNtm9lcEnLnczvbctfDV-nlnG0mBVdB3sQHaLWsGJa3Q_UJGhaRYbQ/s442/Achilles-tendon.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="442" data-original-width="400" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZaet1wCvODKbNjlgY1ve7pJty6kYVqpJxIFYTU6fdy2gfkatg-mfHTc_Tkgntsxn0KEKNxWL4JoGiR_2hpyyiDZgT5yh9W4RAV9cHIawxuoBIgO8-nHXoXuo22AsN7XNhRT9qzNtm9lcEnLnczvbctfDV-nlnG0mBVdB3sQHaLWsGJa3Q_UJGhaRYbQ/s320/Achilles-tendon.png" width="290" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><p><br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973790018059523122.post-47276999754789499472023-01-21T13:58:00.003+00:002023-01-21T13:58:35.651+00:00Acupuncture and herbal medicine for secondary infertility <span style="color: #3d85c6; font-size: large;">Acupuncture for secondary infertility </span><div><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-size: large;"><span style="caret-color: rgb(61, 133, 198);"><br /></span></span></div><div><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-size: large;"><br /><span style="caret-color: rgb(61, 133, 198);"><br /></span></span><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqbDaeSybuaG7TfoF-SpZjOxYDohgVr6didf1Xnzd1HLg2OeCaJMLMl4QjtT-xDRXKy3RmlOsNik8ffL2eaycMaLePqo0bPMwj3YVWqjZskT2_I4431OCU78cEb9sAtn9sJw-Z7ktFT8AOWpDz4FF73gVcy_vnBpbNKOXGBY29C3SUDS-yJ8HP2modgg/s1500/are+you+expecting+your+second+child-min.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1500" height="311" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqbDaeSybuaG7TfoF-SpZjOxYDohgVr6didf1Xnzd1HLg2OeCaJMLMl4QjtT-xDRXKy3RmlOsNik8ffL2eaycMaLePqo0bPMwj3YVWqjZskT2_I4431OCU78cEb9sAtn9sJw-Z7ktFT8AOWpDz4FF73gVcy_vnBpbNKOXGBY29C3SUDS-yJ8HP2modgg/w467-h311/are+you+expecting+your+second+child-min.jpg" width="467" /></a></div><span style="font-size: large;"> </span><a href="https://thedgafmom.com/theblog/having-a-second-child" target="_blank">Acupuncture for secondary infertility, image source </a></div><div><br /></div><div>39 years old female patient had been trying to conceive naturally for a year for a second child before seeking help from Traditional Chinese Medicine. <p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">Patient experienced extreme fatigue, lower back pain, pain under the foot and overall body ache after giving birth to her second child. </p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 15px;"><br /></p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">Treatment</p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 15px;"><br /></p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">Acupuncture sessions were given to help with the pain and general weakness. As patient was still breastfeeding, herbal medicine was suggested after weaning. </p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 15px;"><br /></p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">Outcome</p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 15px;"><br /></p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">Patient felt much better in all areas after the third acupuncture session. Her energy had also improved. </p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 15px;"><br /></p>
<p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">Pain under foot is a sign of weak Kidney energy from a Chinese medicine point of view. Child bearing and giving birth consume a lot of Kidney energy in women and in some will manifest in physical symptoms afterwards. Acupuncture can be a very effective treatment to support the body to recover postpartum and boost Kidney energy to eliminate associated pain and weakness. </p><p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://share.upmc.com/2020/10/fatigue-and-depression/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="324" data-original-width="754" height="260" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-AAprXGl9-dYreeDoAR5m4WUd-0f4bpdYtQYCBfvxKAgRwX2V3rpsVuhJom5xPTvNHsmD2pHsjWfGJ2iNtw2m8NWqcDlhot_OKrldSN5SbES5fxJ7QwDcm3h6nvsuvzKwe4YxglRtMGgDAKQRKX14Tyyg1aqipehI5GbRcIcgjhWSWoLJ4bagZLyqvQ/w602-h260/acupuncture%20for%20fatigue.webp" width="602" /></a></div><br /><p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973790018059523122.post-67879356877621108192022-02-16T10:53:00.003+00:002022-02-16T10:55:09.750+00:00Acupuncture and herbal medicine for dry eyes<p> </p><p><span style="color: #3d85c6;">The patient</span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Mid aged women complained about chronic dry eyes. Overall improvement was felt on digestion, quality of sleep, energy and fertility signs. </p><p><br /></p><p><b><span style="color: #3d85c6;">The outcome</span></b></p><p>Patient had a positive natural conception pregnancy test just days before her IVF cycle was about to start. </p><p><br /></p><p>There has been an increased number of young healthy females having to go through IVF cycle to get pregnant. <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">37 year old house wife with a history of digestive problems. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: blue; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Clinical presentation</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Patient presented with a temperature of 38.1°C, dry itchy throat with a slight amount of unproductive phlegm, nausea, loose bowel, very frequent urination and a feeling of burning heat in chest and back. Patient called 111 to report symptoms and was advised to self isolate at home. </span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Patient took one recommended dose of Panadol which brought the temperature down to 37.3°C.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<b><span style="color: blue; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Treatment</span></b><br />
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The patient took Chinese herbal formulas and used acupressure points to control and reduce symptoms whilst following diet advice set out by the practitioner. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Patient experienced difficulty in breathing on day 4, additional formula was added to support the lung function and clear phlegm, and patient was advised on altering sleeping position to ease difficulty in breathing. Panting and breathing difficulty disappeared on the following day.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: blue; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Outcome</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Fever was controlled, discomfort was reduced to tolerable level to support body's natural fight against the virus. Digestion, bowel movement and urination returned to normal function and frequency. Patient has since fully recovered without any respiratory symptoms.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">There is no known treatment for Coronavirus. In China, Chinese medicine was and is still currently widely used in the initial stage of cases with mild symptoms and the recovery stage of severe cases. In patients presenting with mild symptoms, it supports the body's basic functions whilst the body builds up its</span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> immunity against the virus and prevents serious conditions developing. Several Chinese herbal formulas were recommended in the 7th edition for the trial version of National Clinical Treatment Protocol for the treatment of COVID-19</span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">. </span><br />

<span style="color: #3d85c6;">Acupuncture for frequent Epilepsy </span></h2>
<div>
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
Female patient in mid 40s has been suffering from monthly seizure attacks since 14 years ago. The frequency and severity of attacks greatly affected her quality of life, as a result she had to take early retirement and seldom leaves home on her own. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The patient first self referred for acupuncture treatment for her shoulder pain. As acupuncture treats the body as a whole, the underlying cause for her epilepsy was treated at the same time. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The frequency of epileptic seizure attacks reduced over time alongside her original shoulder pain complaint following regular acupuncture treatments. Patient gradually developed increased confidence and started going out on her own and even enjoyed a short haul trip abroad independently in Spring 2019. The dosage of medication was reduced by her neurological consultant at a recent medical review based on her stable condition. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Table and charts below illustrates the gradual reduction of epileptic seizure attacks since receiving acupuncture.</div>

<br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;">The treatment & outcome</span><br />
<br />
Weekly acupuncture sessions were able to help eliminating knee pain. She was able to stop taking pain killers and sleep through undisturbed.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;">Testimonial </span><br />
<br />
<i>"During the previous four years I had an operation on lower back vertebrate and a hip replacement. Arthritis had set in and I was in considerable pain, taking eight paracetamols a day. The only other advice was exercise regularly. Since I had been a teacher of physical education I am well aware of that. Ivy's approach was centred on the whole body and lifestyle, so that the time spent on dealing with poor circulation improved enormously and I now rarely take any painkillers.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>I am pleased to vouch for the improvement of my energy level, clarity of thought and wellbeing in my 90th year, which gives me the opportunity to write this testimonial for a dedicated and hight professional lady.</i> "Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
