The patient
Mid aged women complained about chronic dry eyes. Her eyes felt gritty and were prone to infections. There was sensitivity to light and environment change as well. Patient had been using artificial tear drops and hot compress on eye lids frequently without noticeable relief.
Weekly acupuncture and herbal medicine was given alongside dietary advice.
Outcome
Patient reported the dryness and grittiness in eyes were much improved after a month and spaced out acupuncture frequency for long term maintenance support.
